The Netherlands on the cover of TIME magazine

Time’s cover archive yield the following nine results when using search terms: dutch, holland and netherlands.

Among them two captains of industry: Aircraft manufacturer Anthony Fokker who visited the United States in 1923 and managing director of Royal Dutch Shell John Loudon in 1960.

Members of the Dutch Royal family were on the cover in four issues. Queen Wilhelmina appeared on the cover three times (1935, 1939 and 1946) and Queen Juliana once in 1948.

Three other covers deal with persons related to the Dutch colony in the East-Indies during World War II: Economic negotiator with Japan Van Mook (1941), Commander of the Netherlands East-Indies Army, Major General Ter Poorten (1942) and Navy commander Vice-Admiral Helfrich (1942).
